Selborne Suffer Third Consecutive Defeat!

Hartley Sunday 2 – 1 Selborne FC
ADSFL Div 3, 6th ADSFL Div 3, 2nd

After their match being called off due to frost last Sunday, Selborne were back in action against Hartley Sunday, who hold games in hand and inflicted the Yellows’ third defeat in a row.

The away side started brightly, probing down the wings and their only failing coming with their final ball. Hartley slowly shifted the tide in their favour, proving to be a real threat from the wings themselves, getting an abundance of crosses in and forcing Selborne ‘keeper, David Finn, into many remarkable saves. The Yellows were breached shortly before half-time when one of Hartley’s many crosses found the head of Dan Graham.

Fortunate to be only one down at half-time, the away side pushed for an equaliser but were vulnerable on the counter, and when Greg Straker put Hartley two up with ten minutes to go, Selborne looked beaten. The Yellows did get one back when Charlie Carver caught the Hartley ‘keeper off his line but it was to prove only a consolation.
